Last September 23 – 25, 2016, Vertaccount managers, supervisors and team leaders together with Vertaccount CEO Aye Navarro went to La Luz Beach Resort in Laiya, Batangas for a 3-day management training and seminar called LEAP.
LEAP stands for Leadership Excellence Acceleration Program. It’s an HR initiative for management level employees in order to propel them faster towards the management chain and hone their leadership capabilities.
Jon Briones, Vertaccount Senior Accounting Manager taught the team about the basic concepts of PLOC – Planning, Leading, Organizing, and Controlling. He discussed how it is implemented and gave examples of how it is applied in everyday operations. Aye Navarro, CEO and Co-Founder shared about the importance of taking care of clients and exceeding their expectations. He stressed that the key to a profitable business is constantly taking good care of the existing client base.
The 3-day event also coincided with the launch for the plans for VA6210 (read VA six-to-ten). This program refers to the strategies and initiatives that will propel Vertaccount to a higher level of growth and success in the next 6 to 10 years.
Apart from the productive discussions and learnings, the team also got the chance to unwind and relax by enjoying the amenities and activities in the resort. Despite that it’s the rainy season in the Philippines, the team enjoyed a sunny weather that allowed them to relax in the crystal clear beach. The team also enjoyed water activities like riding the banana boat, riding the thrilling Flying Fish and snorkeling.
The 3-day event was a great time to learn new things, recharge everyone’s vision for the company and re-energize everyone’s strength for the upcoming weeks as 2016 draws to a close. It is just a prelude to other upcoming regular sessions where each person’s understanding of the concepts taught will be measured and refined.
